Our story

Ten years of showing up for women and girls

From a small group of volunteers in Juba to a national organization working in four states.

2016

WCH is founded

A group of South Sudanese women register WCH with the RRC (No. 6389) to respond to the needs of displaced women in Juba.

2018

First girls' education program

Fee support and girls' clubs launch in Yei and Kajo Keji, re-enrolling 420 girls.

2020

Protection at scale

GBV prevention and psychosocial support expand to Unity State with mobile outreach teams.

2022

VSLA network forms

The first 24 village savings and loan associations are capitalised, reaching 610 women.

2024

Peace committees formalised

Joint women's peace committees sign local agreements in Bentiu and Rubkona.

2026

Four states, one mission

WCH now operates in four states through 8 counties and 150+ communities.
